RTJ (RING TYPE JOINT) GASKET

RTJ (Ring Type Joint) Gaskets are precision-machined metallic sealing rings, specifically designed for use in high-pressure and high-temperature applications, commonly found in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, and power generation industries. They seal by metal-to-metal contact between the gasket and flanges, making them ideal for critical, leak-proof connections. 

• Designed for pressures up to 20,000 psi

• Excellent for elevated temperatures (up to 1000°C)

• High-integrity metal-to-metal sealing

• Reusable in some applications (depending on condition)

• Compatible with RTJ flanges (as per ASME/ANSI B16.5/B16.47)

• Machined for tight tolerance and smooth finish

• R Type: Octagonal & oval-shaped standard design – fits most RTJ flanges

• RX Type: Pressure-activated sealing – interchangeable with R type but gives better sealing under high pressure

• BX Type: Specially for API 6A flanges – used in extreme pressure services (up to 20,000 psi)

Coatings like zinc, silver, or PTFE available for enhanced sealing and flange protection.

Q: Can RTJ gaskets be reused?
A: Not recommended. Some solid metal gaskets may be reused in non-critical applications if not deformed, but always consult specifications.

Q: What’s the difference between R, RX, and BX types?
A: R is standard, RX offers better sealing with pressure assistance, BX is for ultra-high-pressure flanges (API 6A).

Q: Can RTJ gaskets be used with raised face flanges?
A: No. They are specifically designed for RTJ flanges only.
